cloud machines

On of my daughter's friends, born and brought up in S Yorks, used to think that these were cloud machines. Imagine having this lot built in the middle of your rural idyll!! If you go large you should be able to see the farm tractors working away.

This was taken from the train on the line between Selby and Doncaster. We were coming back from a trip to Beverley, but the trains have to be diverted via Selby because of the "land"slip at Stainforth and Hatfield. Although the "land" is an unstable spoil heap.

There has been a considerable time lapse between my first and second blip birthdays - several events affected the pattern of my life: the short illness and death of my son-in-law early in 2011; later that year the death of my mother and the subsequent many months of faffing with the executor's useless solicitor to get the estate (not large) settled; more contact (amicable) with my brother during that time than we'd had in the rest of our adult lives put together; retirement mid-2012 which means adjusting to no patterns but to a pleasing randomness.

During all that I have been browsing blipfoto if not having the energy/time to comment. The usual HUGE thanks to Joe and all at blipcentral for making this site possible and for keeping it going. Many thanks to all who share their lovely images and thoughts, and especially thanks to those who visit mine and also to those who take the time/energy to comment when they do.
