Chickens or hens!

I’m not sure when a chicken becomes a hen, but these six belong to our neighbours and they have the run of their garden most days.
I love seeing them. My wife assured me that one day she saw the hens sliding down the chute!
I’m reading “My Garden World” by Monty Don. Its really a diary about the fauna and flora of his farm and his enthusiasm for nature comes across all the time.
