It Works
Over the next few days I'll be using pics from the Pepper Patch Archives to create a manual of frequently used terms and phrases. For instance if I comment on your journal entry by saying "it works it usually means the image did exactly what you wanted to accomplish (challenge/theme/purpose). At other times, like with this pic of a potter at his wheel in the French Quarter of New Orleans, you can take it quite literally. It always is a compliment and will be accompanied by a *.
Backstory on this image - I asked if he minded if I took a pic of him at work (I had just had a street performer flip me off because I hadn't asked). He chuckled and said sure, as long as I'd photoshop out the gray and wrinkles. I smiled my agreement not thinking it necessary to let him know that, even though I thought it was the face of a wise and pilgrim soul, it was the artistry and strength of his hands I wanted to capture.
Thanks for putting up with me as I wander off the path for a while ... and the adventure through the viewfinder continues.
