Current cross stitch project

Another day without a photo.  I had good intentions - I planned to take a photo of the field next door where the fence has been put up, but then today a local farmer with a tractor and hedge cutter mangled the hedges around the edge and I was so cross about the mess I failed to take a photo.  And then I planned to take a photo of the evening Zoom session with the Eflute Academy - but I didn't.  Due to other commitments, I've done little on the car mat, so there's not enough progress to justify a picture.  And I think I missed an even better sunset - my neighbour has posted a glorious red sky photo on Facebook taken from her office window.

So you get a photo of the current evening stitching project.  It's sewn on evenweave cotton - mum would approve, she always preferred that to Aida (a specialised cross stitch fabric, as seen in this project).  It would have made the previous cross stitch project simpler, as there were a lot of partial stitches in that, and these are much easier and more satisfactory on evenweave (there's a hole in the middle, rather than having to force your needle through the centre of the block of threads in Aida).  Annoyingly, there are no partial stitches in this project to take advantage of the evenweave.

Interestingly, almost every evening recently we have been disturbed by a large wasp bumbling around.  It's not the same wasp every time, because we have already evicted half a dozen.  And we evicted another this evening.  I'm not sure where they are coming in, but I wish they'd give up.
