I'm not a child but.......

I seem to have scuffed my black boots. Never had this problem myself before but used to 'revive' the kids shoes when they had been playing football!
The normal polishing didn't work so bought this very expensive item. Have no doubt that someone will now tell me of an old fashioned remedy which would have cost a fraction of what I have paid!
I haven't been playing football, honest!!!
