Saddled

This woman, saddled on her bike, is an absolute tonic to spend a lunchtime on a bench with. Elizabeth and I met in the graveyard, mentioned periodically on here as the scene of some seminal moments over the years. These moments have largely been the planning of snacks we need to take on cycle trips, but we also have excellent conversations and Elizabeth issues wise counsel. In this picture she is displaying traces of her mother, a recognisable figure often seen cycling around central Cambridge, looking extraordinarily chic.

Elizabeth described me as perspicacious. On re-checking the definition I am happy with this, as it doesn’t mean ‘overly sweaty’ as I initially suspected (and because I am that at times). Elizabeth has single-handedly improved my vocabulary no end since I met her at work soon after moving to Cambridge. She’s also responsible for influencing and polishing the rough Scouse edges of Amy, who hasn’t been seen in a shell suit in all the time I’ve known her.
