Solo (Day 2027)

Not much improvement in my cold overnight, but with good weather and a free morning, I headed for Stromness and a chance to get out a ride on my own. Not so long ago, I would have found excuses not to ride alone, but my confidence with George has improved a huge amount and the sunshine was too good to miss.
As we rode down Hellihole into the sunshine, the Hamnavoe was just sailing in, and I snapped a shot or two of the view over George's ginormous lugs (ears). The wide angle shot makes it look like I was riding a llama (extra). At the bottom of Hellihole George turned for the shore and we trotted along past the campsite at Ness, then along the shore path (another extra). We had a grand canter along below the battery. A long, slow, lolloping, comfortable stride.
We trotted to the turning for the Croval Road, where I let George decide on the route. He trotted up Croval, turning off for the canter along past the golf course and up to the viewpoint. He stopped there and watched the golfists for a while before we turned to head back to the yard.
We had the company of my beautiful wife having a bit of hoss therapy with Isla, and were joined by A.
I headed home to wander the woofers, tidy the van and head to town to collect stuff for jobs coming up over tee next little while.
It has been a damned good day.
