From the Esplanade
It's time to start re-exploring this weird city, in times of COVID-19. So after the usual walk to work and the usual day in the office, I took a slightly circuitous route home via Castle Hill and then down Ramsay Lane, past two men who appeared to be putting some lights on the Christmas Tree on the Mound, and then over to George Street to catch the Number 10 bus which has been diverted off Leith Walk to pass almost in front of our building. The city is strange, with the complete absence of tourists, a small number of businesses still open (until 6pm, I guess), but also a few Christmas decorations and floodlit buildings. The almost full moon was a bonus.
Other than that, in an ominous sign Phoenix Drilling have appeared in the part of the demolition site furthest away from us. However, hopefully there won't be any more test drilling on the main site right over the road from our flat, as I think they did that before they did the demolition, if I remember correctly.
