Rewarewa flower
The Rewarewa is a native New Zealand tree which grows up to 30 metres tall and a metre wide. The flowers are loved by nectar feeding birds like tui and bellbirds. The past few weeks they have been a lot of flowers scattered on different sections of the walking track around Lake Tikitapu, the Blue Lake. I am particularly fond of Rewarewa honey, it's rich and very dark almost the colour of malt.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and please stay safe.
