Cherry Blossoms in Autumn?

Shot this when we took a short stroll in the immediate neighbourhood.  I'm amazed as I thought it would be too cold now for these flowers.

Besides the usual, there's nothing much to write here today, except perhaps to express my hope that you're all keeping safe, as the numbers in some places are rising still, or again.  Okay, okay, some people don't believe in face masks and/or social distancing.  Fine.  That is their risk.

On a sad note, a former secondary school classmate of mine, Cynthia Gaerlan, passed away in MNL due to colon cancer.  I'd seen her during the mini reunion last February (which feels like years ago) and she didn't have a clue at the time that she had it.  By the time she was diagnosed last July, it was already at Stage 4, way too late for anything more than palliative care.  She is not the first of our batch to pass away; we'd already lost a couple of girls almost right after university graduation way back in 1983, but she is the first in this present time, now that we're approaching or have reached the age of 60.  We hope no new deaths follow soon.  RIP dear Cynthia ... you were mad and funny and lovely.
