Frustrating Day
Our washing machine is on the fritz, again. It won't spin fast enough to spin out the excess water and the laundry is soaking wet at the end of the cycle. The part to fix this was replaced in August....and it's doing it again. After waiting for 1 1/2 hours on hold on Monday, I finally got through and they scheduled someone for today. The technician was supposed to call between 8 and 10 to give me a 2 hour window....he never called. And a call to the company netted only an answering service saying it was after hours. Hugely frustrating hanging around the house waiting for the phone, or the person to show up. Grrr.
But it was nice enough to spend a little time in the garden after my husband arrived home from his adventures today. I managed to plant a few bulbs and noticed some other bulbs popping up (very slightly) and a very mucky looking primrose is in bloom (slug eaten and rain-beaten) but still, it's blooming! (See extra.)This barberry - Berberis thunbergii 'Orange Rocket' is in its full glory right now...isn't she glorious??
Tomorrow will be nice too....more bulbs to plant and leaves to rake up.
Hope that your Thanksgiving was a pleasant and safe one, if you celebrate. We had a spectacular dinner...not too filling...and husband brought out a fabulous wine to quaff it all down with.
