National Memorial Arboretum
We had a very moving afternoon out wandering around the memorials at the National Memorial Arboretum. This was our first visit and hopefully won't be the last. I'd like to return after Covid on a warm, sunny day. Today was freezing cold and I was even cold in a cardigan and 2 coats.
What struck me here was the amount of service men and women killed in action during the 2 main wars as well as those killed in Afghanistan and those shot at dawn for deserting. You hear of the amounts but they become more real when you see the names of all those people. Far too many were taken as teenagers or in their early 20s.
