Beckton gasworks

We went for a very long and very deliberately urban walk today, starting and ending at Gallions Reach. We more or less walked round City Airport. There’s a great view of the runway from what I now know is Sir Steve Redgrave Bridge. I imagine it’s quite a thrill to see the planes land from there but none flying today that we saw. I was very taken with this gasometer which seems a cut above the normal ones we see in London. It’s very ornate, and I sssume is listed.
