M is making a good recovery. The nurse told the surgeon who operated on him, when he made his morning round, that M was a “model patient”.
 This spurred him on to try and walk even further. The Zimmer lasted all of two hours before he was promoted to elbow crutches.
 
Visiting is not allowed but he is making good use of the phone. 
If all goes well he could be home by midweek.
 
He is full of praise for the staff at Larbert hospital and he can see first hand how the NHS is starved of funds. A machine for testing warfarin levels, which gives instant results, is not available there though our local health centre has one.  So test results take 24 hours to come back and this could delay him coming home.
