Harrop Tarn
Another day of difficult choices today.
We got the bus up to the Wythburn end of Thirlmere and walked 10 miles back to Keswick via Blea Tarn, Watendlath, Lodore and along the edge of Derwentwater. It started very cold and cloudy but gradually improved through the day until a glorious sunset over the lake at the end.
A shot of Ashness landing stage in the sunset was high on the shortlist but this picture of Harrop Tarn was the winner. The reason is because there are thousands of blips of the Ashness landing stage but this is a real rarity. Its a charming little tarn a short walk up from Thirlmere. I came here last summer on a scorching hot day but without my camera. I vowed to come back properly equipped. The weather today was very overcast and extremely cold - a complete contrast with how the day finished.
I used a Lee Big Stopper to get movement in the water.
