Coffee and walnut cake

Oh Heavens, cake day again.  Sadly my sis, who was going to come over and share it with us, was unwell, but I still don't reckon it will take long to vanish.  The centre and topping were supposed to be buttercream, but I've never liked that.  In fact I wouldn't feed it to a cat!  So I experimented with marscapone and a modest amount of icing sugar, which I reckon worked really well.

So that was my intellectual pursuit for the day.  Apart from that it's been clearing up the house and a short walk with Hazel.
