Reason For the Season

Sat in church, watching the light from the high up window at the back illuminate, in turn, the four candles on the altar, then the Padre preaching, and finally, this image of Jesus, Mary and Joseph on the far right of the church. Longing to take a photo of the candles, but only when it got this far, could I do it without being seen. 

First Sunday of Advent - a time to wait for the coming of Jesus - remembering the time he came as a vulnerable human babe, and that he promised to come again. And next time, all evils will be righted and all our deepest longings fulfilled. Come, Lord Jesus!

Gratefuls:
- the utter beauty of this day: olive leaves silhouetted against a full moon, rainbows arching across the land, raindrops on roses and geraniums and twinkling on wires, birds chirping their happiness, a bright castle against a dark sky...
- listening to tears, and taking photos for a friend's restaurant
- the spicy smell of On Guard on my mask
