Advent 1

An earlier start this morning and a brief diversion along part of the White Cart Water I had not previously explored. These red berries close to the “Morrison’s ” Bridge caught my eye and it felt like an appropriate blip for the first Sunday in Advent. That inbetween time that sits at odds with a consumerist world. The description of the subtle knife (His Dark Materials) – ‘born of hope used by greed’ comes to mind.
By chance I met Islay dog and A and L on my return, Islay greeting me with excessive excitement. I joined them on a short walk through a very busy Pollok Park, Islay being very “zoomy” – Lorne’s apt description. And another chance encounter with J too which was lovely.

I also met the ginger cat after a long gap, it too was zoomy so no opportunity to try out the smizing experiment. It did sit long enough to get an extra blip.

For the first time in a while I joined the SEC provincial church service which was from Nairn. Like virtual Yoga and Pilates I lack the focus and inclination to properly engage, and it is all too tempting to fast forward when something jars.

The dog walker’s holiday arrangements have changed, or more accurately Islay’s owners’ interpretation of those arrangements has changed, so we are to have Islay again tomorrow, early. The weather forecast is terrible.
