Mamma Mia, please!

Went to see 'Monsters Vs. Aliens' today. A very good movie. I think 'By Hawkins Chair!' will be one of the catchphrases of the year. And talking of monster movies..as in, a monster smash, when out shopping today the kids spotted 'Mamma Mia' on the shelves at a bargain price so I was duly forced to purchase it. All the kids love this film, and it's refreshing in this day and age of violent film and computer games, that an old fashioned tale of 'girl attempts to find her father but her own mother can't remember who it is' would prove to be so popular. Actually, take away the songs and the Greek setting and, erm, it's not that good a message actually. If it was set on a Manchester housing estate it would have got slated. But this film has what I call the 'Richard Curtis' lovely jubbly factor, and that makes everything all OK. Even the dubious morals.
