Heron in the Park
As Sharon and I were walking through Regent's Park this afternoon, we saw this rather splendid Heron standing around with a couple of friends in amongst the geese. Normally, Herons are warier of humans than this, but it soon became apparent why these Herons were being a bit bolder. In among the people throwing crusts and crumbs to the waterfowl was a man with a bag full of what looked like small meatballs, which the attendant Herons were delicately picking up in their chopstick-like beaks and eating.
I'm quite pleased with the Heron's shadow and backlit beak in this shot.
