Scots Pine

Up and out early with the promise of sun in the morning and to get back before the boiler man.  I took this photo so Mr P could identify the tree when we got home but the sun went behind thick cloud soon after so its my only photo. We missed the boiler man by 10 mins, he was early but his office sent him back. 
Mr P identified this as a Scots Pine. Apparently they can live up to 700 years. We guess the woods we were walking in, were once part of the greater Sizergh Castle estate
