Pucker Up (in a Socially Distanced Fashion)!

National Mistletoe Day. Alas, the mistletoes auctions were cancelled this year. Who knows if there will be mistletoe for folk to buy in parts of the world where the sacred herb does not thrive. This year, any mistletoe on sale is unlikely to have been blessed by Druids (this in fact normally happens).

Happily, in our part of the world it grows everywhere, and it was a simple job to bless and harvest a large bunch from a nearby tree. This is just a small sprig and Ivy seems to misunderstand and blow a kiss to it rather than under it. Hey ho. I don't think there will be much opportunity for a casual snog this season, with or without chocolate cake lips.

It was a hard thing, to keep distant from an eager two-and-a-half year old who wants a hug from "Ga-ga" and is constantly on the look out for fun and excitement. We managed it, reluctantly, because as we move towards possible vaccines, we most certainly don't want any pre-Yule viral misadventures!

Anyhow, after being a bit glum yesterday and despite there only being thirty one days to go, I'm all cheered up today! That's the magic of grandchildren... :-)
