Slump
It spread rather than rose, so it was an oven slump rather than an oven spring. I'm sure it will taste great!
I should have had a more exciting photo as we went to Narbonne this morning, the furthest I've been from home since October. S had a medical appointment, and I took advantage to go shopping in Les Halles. The market is a far cry from its normal bustling self as all the bars and restaurants are closed, and over the last ten years it's turned into a place where people go to eat and drink as opposed to buying food to cook at home.
I bought lots of no-effort goodies: chicken and apricot tajine and gratin dauphinois for lunch, piquillo peppers stuffed with bacalao, cheese, bellota ham, pear and almond tartlets ... once S was back we topped it off on the way home with a very rare visit to Picard where we were even greedier.
There might have been photo ops in Narbonne, but it was too cold (8C! A long time since we've experienced that) and windy. This afternoon's chilly weather/howling gale left me even more inclined to stay at home by the fire baking bread and reading. So yet another food blip.
