A cold weather hike
I wanted to get away from the house and computer today so I told the man I was taking the dog and going for a hike at Lynches Wood which is the closest hiking area to my house. He decided he would go also which is fine but I knew he would not want to walk as long as I would. I could have stayed out there most of the day but he was done after a couple of miles. I should have known better.
The forest was really wonderful, the air was really cold (about 38F (3C) when we started but sunny and no wind blowing. There was still so much color at this location! Some of the beech trees were still green and many maples, sourwoods, gum trees and others were still showing great fall color.
I love hiking in the cold!
You can see him waiting for me to catch up as I was taking photos along the creek which was to the left of where he was sitting on that log.
All I can say is I should have gone by myself.
