Lake Tekapo Lupins

We’re now in Twizel, nicely settled in our friends beautiful home. The rest of our group will arrive tomorrow afternoon.  It’s nice to be settled in, sitting outside enjoying a pre dinner G & T, so feeling nice and relaxed.  Sun shining but windy.  The gales were a real curse driving up, but I was driving to the conditions.  A few stops along the way, lunch at the infamous Fairlie Bakery for a salmon and bacon pie, delish!
Then a stop in Tekapo for an ice cream and some lupin photography.  The lupins are very stunted this year and less showy, but still looking a picture.  We’ve been told that there has been some spraying especially along the road sides, such a shame really. It’s a tourist draw card at this time of the year, but then we haven’t got any tourists.
