Any Salmon?
Wonder what the problem with blip was last night...it's back today thank goodness...I really missed the connections more than ever at this time.....so this is yesterday.
WE decided to go have another look at Carkeek park for the salmon going upstream to spawn. It was very cloudy hazy and the sun never really cleared it up. Alas, no live fish but we had a lovely walk in the woods and on the beach …much less crowded. this fisherman seems to think those salmon are still running (I read they were but it must be about the end) as he is in the sound at the mouth of the creek. Olympic mountains across the Salish Sea.
In the extra: the mouth of the creek and the culverts where it has to go under the train track to that one small spot of running water to start their climb. Saw no eagles…but the crows were happy. And along came a long train to the delight of a few youngsters on the bridge, who I”m sure call this the “train park”..Like ours do.
I just read that many coho are dying before they can spawn and the reason that has finally been found is tire dust pollution making it’s way into urban streams! HERE
