The Black Linn Burn

Most of the snow had gone by morning, though bits and pieces remain. It was quite cold indoors first thing so we lit the fire, and now it's too warm!

We took our usual walk down town after lunch - a bit windy and gloomy, but dry at least. As often recently, not the best light for photography. This water gushing out of the tunnel is the Black Linn, a burn which rises a couple of miles away at the top of Glenshellach and after the confluence with the Soroba Burn and the Alt an Tartach it runs through the town and falls into the harbour by the station. The latter part of it is enclosed between concrete walls and buildings as in my extra; a pity, as it could have been an asset to the town. In the old days Oban was a working town and no doubt prettiness wasn't on the menu!

Limerick of the Day:

Two charming young chaps from Dalmally
Were nick-named Susannah and Sally!
One had limpid blue eyes
And the other trim thighs
And were thought to be rather too pally!
