Derelict Post Box
We've had quite an adventurous day, for us.
In the morning we bought all our Christmas cards. Normally we spend ages on this, especially the family ones, going from one shop to another to choose cards with exactly the right words. This year we got most of what we need in one shop. I found most of them. 'You're good at this' said mrsfb.
In the afternoon we went in search of a door wreath but failed as the Batsford ones we normally get at Tescos were not there. It wasn't a wasted journey as we had a quick walk around Stow. I took just 4 photos, the blip is one of them.
Then we popped into the Co-op and got a few things that we can only get there, and afterwards did a drive past the Bourton tree which looks nice this year.
In between the shops we were meant to have a Skype call with the FIL, but he refused to co-operate. We tried one yesterday which was also a failure. We did get a call from the social worker dealing with him - she has finally come round to accepting that he should stay in the care home. She phoned him today to ask him if he still wanted to go home, which I thought was a bit risky, but he said he was at home and was very happy. He apparently started speaking to her in French, which is something he did with us yesterday and seemingly is starting to do quite a bit. Very strange. We didn't even know he spoke much French. It's like that episode of Black Books where Bill Bailey suddenly discovers he can play the piano. Well the FIL has suddenly discovered he can speak French :-)
