Pops got her mock results back and she has smashed them. Getting what she needs for 6th form and showing a massive improvement on where she was last year. I'm so proud of her, she worked her socks off revising for them.

A system we run for a client has had some serious issues this week. Some hardware (which we are not responsible for) failed and it transpired the back up (also not us) for it was a bit old to be a lot of use.

This scenario was outside everyone's expectations. We had a fall back plan but we've never attempted it. However, there is nothing like a load of pressure from a client running a massive event to focus the team. Two long days and very late nights, working with our team, the client and another supplier, all in different parts of the world and on different timezones and we sorted it. With hardly any disruption to the end users.

A painful few days but a massive learning experience, my brain is full. I need a drink, luckily it's cocktail night. 

To top it all off it's been raining loads, and we've had snow so the river is in flood, it's not quite in the garden at the moment, I'm watching the flood gauges.

I feel really sorry for the poor person who tried to get through the ford.
