Sally Mair - Loving life

Lovely weather for ducks

What a foul day! We missed the dramas of the thundersnow here or else I slept through it which sounds unlikely. We woke to what was left of yesterday's snow that was soon washed away by the torrential rain of the rest of the day.

Cleo spent most of the day asleep, either on my bed or in the dining room. These bits of paper started off as double thickness packaging. They've provided a wonderful toy for Cleo. She runs across the room, pounces on the top sheet which slides along the lower sheet with her on it. Sometimes on a really good run it slams into the door! Straight out of Tom and Jerry. She also enjoys getting herself between the sheets of paper as in the blip and jumping out at me as I walk past. The oldest kitten in town!

I made a mad dash to Morrisons this afternoon. I reckoned that was likely to be my only exercise of the day so clocked up a mile and a half walking round the aisles. I think I must be showing my age. A member of staff asked if she could help me get my shopping to the car. I'd swear she was at least 10 years older than me. I politely declined but I did appreciate the offer as the rain was absolutely torrential at that point!

We had decided we would have roast beef for dinner tonight, so in the light of the aforesaid weather it felt a very good choice.

I met with people from the Borders Cursillo group this evening. Always nice to have such a positive friendly evening even at Zooming distance.

Keep safe and well everybody. Vaccination starts very soon.
