Gift

Our garden at OGH still manages to surprise us.  This Dietes iridioides, commonly named African iris, fortnight lily, and morea iris, is a species of plant in the family Iridaceae that is native to Southern Africa.  

It's not flowered before - at least not in the past 4 years that we have been involved.   As with so many South African plants, this is really a weed in the bush, but in the garden is very hardy, and the flowers are lovely.
