Chick-a-dee-dee-dee!
I’m a bit worried about this little one. All puffed up, not much energy, and alone. I did observe him eating, drinking and napping, but I’m concerned. Hopefully he’ll be okay • We did some grocery shopping this morning, mostly for fruit and produce, but while there we picked up other items too • Another purchase while out was a cheerful and festive evergreen arrangement for the top of our “stove” to enjoy through New Years, and longer if lucky • Why the quotes around stove? For many years we heated our home with locally-sourced wood pellets. MrsP loved the annual ritual of moving and stacking 3 pallets of pellets to get us from Fall through Spring. Me? Not so much. Good exercise but a chore. She was invigorated! Eventually it became a chore for her too, with arthritis in the hands. We gave the stove to a friend a few years ago but still miss the warm glow, and mesmerizing nature of a real flame. It’s so cozy and inviting! With the ongoing covid quarantine, and the anticipation of a dark winter, I suggested an electric stove • It’s an early Christmas present and we’re so pleased with the ambiance, plus extra heat when needed. Admittedly it isn’t the same, but life is short. It makes us happy to see it at night, along with the candles and tree. Even our kitties snuggle up to it!
