Singing Thrush

I have finally got a half-decent shot of the song thrush that has been singing deep in the hedge for the past couple of weeks. Yesterday it sang all day long, in spite of the non-stop rain. This morning it had chosen a much more visible song post high in an ash tree. "I drank the sound with joy."

I'm guessing that it's a male proclaiming its territory. In the spring it will sing to attract a mate.
