Lower Orchard and Marsh
The snow disappeared fairly quickly yesterday, but caused a lot of flooding in the village. Both ends of the road through the village were blocked for a time and the road going north is still blocked this afternoon. You can still go north by going by a different, longer route.
Today’s picture shows our natural pond, which has spilled out a little over the bottom of the orchard as well as some of the flooding on the marsh. There is nowhere near as much water as I expected this morning and much less than in past times when the top end of the orchard has also been flooded. It seems the River Cam burst its banks causing flooding. Normally the River Cam is a stream through the village except in really heavy rain.
I had a “Google Meet” meeting at lunchtime with some of my usual friends and there were people there that I had never met before.
The temperature today was six degrees Celsius at GMT noon.
