Looking both ways .

Out for a walk with a dog in disgrace !
Bramble has greedily scoffed several large fat balls that I put out for the  birds earlier . I’m just hoping that she will be ok after eating all that fat . 
I’ve hung out seeds and nuts for the birds for weeks now with some pinecones that I had carefully covered with peanut butter and beef fat, there have been very few feathered visitors . Word has gone out that there are now fat balls on the menu and we have suddenly had a frenzy of activity . It’s been fascinating to watch . 

I’ve had a successful video call with my dad , who seemed in good spirits considering that yesterday he was in despair as he thought he would be spending 
Christmas on the streets .

We lit a fire this afternoon and spent some hours writing 
Christmas cards . The glowing flames create such a cosy atmosphere . Dave had chopped the wood and laid the fire , I was a complete passenger in the process , I am grateful.
