Saint Nicholas Day

Today it's Saint Nicholas Day, which is celebrated like a mini-Christmas in Germany. Children put a boot called Nikolaus-Stiefel outside their door the night before, for St. Nicholas to fill it with gifts and sweets overnight. According to traditional tales, he and his servant Rupert also check if the children have been good and helpful all year - otherwise they don't get any gifts.

I had hoped to get out for a walk today and find an exciting photo as my 100th blip. But we got another drizzly, dull and dark day, and once again, I asked Rani to pose for me.
