The solution to yesterdays problem
How do you keep chickens undercover in a wild bird proof environment for at least 14 weeks.
You dig out a slightly old six birth tunnel tent and pitch it in the orchard where the chickens live. You prune, quite severely in one case, several fruit trees to allow the slightly old tent to be erected and then you cut out the built in groundsheet to allow the birds to dig and scrape (and to prevent a build up of chicken poo)
Chances of us ever using the tent again? Nil
Chances of it surviving intact undamaged for 3 months? Unlikely
Chances of our birds surviving the outbreak of Avian Flu? Good
Chances of getting strange looks from passersby? Likely
Chances of feeling content after a good job done? Very likely
