In pre Covid times - the switching on of the lights was a public event - carols were sung - there was a big countdown to the flicking of the on switch by a scholar from the school - mince pies and mulled wine could be partaken in the church afterwards - this year Father Christmas is turning on the lights - without an audience - but he can be seen flicking the switch -seen in extras held aloft by CCB - after walking through the village - via a live feed

Glad technology and people means this tradition can still carry on - they’re certainly stars
