Down By The River
An eclectic sort of day today. Went out with Mrs C for a walk by the river that proved to be a lot muddier than expected. Carried on up into town for a bit of lunch. It was only a toasted sandwich and a mug of coffee, but it was the first “hot meal out” we’d had since March. A bit of post prandial shopping and then back home. A total of five miles covered so that was lunch nicely walked off.
The afternoon was spent doing the ironing whilst listening to Johnnie Walker’s Sounds of the Seventies - apart from a quick trip out to pick up a chair I’d spotted for sale on the local FB “Sell and Seek” site. Thought it looked ideal for Mrs C to use when she’s working on her iMac, and thus it proved to be.
Now it’s time to turn on the Xmas lights, the heating and the telly (not necessarily in that order!) and settle down for the evening.
The picture is of a very unusual sight we saw down by the river. There was a dead salmon that looked like an otter had got it, but there were also a duck pecking at it. I knew ducks would sometimes catch small fish but I’ve never heard of them eating dead ones!
