Ear, Ear
I am fascinated by Gus's ears. When he's trotting along, the tips quiver. When he meets another dog they swivel towards each other until they are nearly touching. When he is listening to dogs in the distance, they are pricked as they are here. When he thinks he has done something wrong, they drop parallel to his head. They move constantly through 3 dimensions.
When he first arrived two months ago, he had an ear infection and though he could hear acutely, he couldn't place where sounds were coming from. I was concerned he might be deaf in one ear. The infection has cleared up now, and he is getting better at locating a sound source.
His ears are soft and felty. And in the middle of his head between them he has a little black diamond. A true gem, we still can't believe that Wifie found him, or perhaps more accurately, he found her. He likes me, but he is utterly devoted to her and won't leave her side when we are both with him.
