Coffee mug to go - won't go!

I spent ages after Christmas choosing a coffee mug for the car since people didn't really take note of my "list". Huh, it fits fine in the drinks holder of my husband's car but it only fits in the storage box of my car where I will eventually store "odds and ends". In his car it stayed warm for ages but I don't think I can have plugged in properly in my car.
