Tulip - Nearly over

Here in the Netherlands flowers are beautiful, very available, can be expensive for a big display but a few tulip bulbs in a nice little pot costs just a few Euros.

These flowered in the normal tulip shape but are now getting ready to drop their petals - for just a day or so they stay like this with the petals fallen open - for me their most delightful days.

Originally a rather dull plant, tulips have been bred and modified over the years and at one time the bulbs sold for real fortunes
