I don't know why
I've seen this tree hundreds of times before and for some reason it has always intrigued me.
The tree is in a graveyard on the way to work. I have planned to photograph it but never got around to it.
Today when I left work I had no change for the bus, so I had to walk. With no conscious decision I found myself being drawn to the tree and into the graveyard.
I took a quick snap, left and got on my way.
It wasn't until I was on the bus that I re-remembered that today was the funeral of a young man from the village I am from.
He was only 25, had his whole life ahead of him and genuinely a real top guy. I am sure he got a great send off.
Life is so cruel and fragile.
Why I ended up in this Edinburgh graveyard - on today of all days is anyones guess.
I thought a lot about a lot of stuff. And the only conclusion I came to was...
I hope there is an afterlife.
It would be such a shame if this is it.
