Inevitably Dylan must appear on the Desert Island Discs list. The programme was first broadcast in 1942. Columbia Records released the first LP in 1948; Sony, the first Walkman, in 1979; Apple, the first iPod in 2001. Given the options for high-volume, portable music, the concept of Desert Island Discs is quaintly out of tune with current technology. I make this observation simply to emphasise that choosing one disc from Dylan's kaleidoscopic catalogue is impossible. So here's two, Take your Pick pop-pickers - two hundred would not suffice:
