Frosty
I had another visit from the physio today; it went very well!
She brought me a new set of wheels to help me get around the house a bit easier/quicker and also a set of pulleys for me to do some strengthening & mobility exercises for my frozen shoulder.
I expressed a wish to try and weight bear more through my bad foot; the surgeon said the more I can do that, the faster my bones will heal and the physio agreed with this.
It was a bit of a shaky start trying to use crutches, with the fear factor of actually walking, but with a bit of encouragement I seemed to get to grips with it.
Initially, she said she would see me again in about 3 weeks, but seeing my efforts with the crutches, she changed her mind and said she will come again next week!
If I’m walking more confidently, just with the crutches, then she said we will work on me getting up and down stairs. Yippee!!
The only pressure I have is from myself, so luckily Mr A is here to reign me in and make sure I don’t overdo things; with a stern warning not to attempt anything if he’s not here to walk behind me.
Just by chance, my crutches had been propped up in the corner; I thought it looked like Frosty the Snowman was about to go skiing!
Salford rang me this morning about my vitamin D blood test results. She said usual levels are around 50+ but the surgeons like things to be more around the 75 mark.
My level was 32.2! So, they’re sending a request to my GP for some high dose vitamin D, which again will help with my healing. :-)
