Washing day

There is one advantage of having a balcony, especially if you don't have a washing line which would be the case for many of the houses in the old village. After a shopping trip into Prades, I had a meeting outside the house with the Maire and his works team as the narrow street outside our house has become less waterproof.  There are no drains and the rainwater just runs down gullies at the side of the road. The gully outside our house has cracks and puddles accumulate which have caused a large damp patch in our bedroom. They inspected and said they would do something about the problem. In the afternoon I did some admin. The chaplain has decided he is finally going to stop taking services having retired a year ago. We have not found a replacement so we now have something of a problem.
