The gentle English countryside in winter
I'm a volunteer on the Kent and East Sussex Railway, a Heritage Steam railway in Kent. I'm training to be a signalman on the railway and part of the job entails being a crossing-keeper. I spend the day in a little hut next to the line opening and shutting the level crossing gates so that the trains can continue on their journey.
This view shows the countryside I can see from my little box. I've seen this view in summer and autumn, looking forward to seeing it in spring.
