V day
Busy day again. Lots of fast paced planning and comms for changes in January but all constructive and delighted that all the key people swung behind what needed to be done and pulled together.
Very strange odd feeling in my hip...the occasional sense of it having ‘given way’ instead lasted all day so I hobbled around the office between meetings. Can’t work out what’s happened but hope it passes.
Stayed til lateish to finish stuff then home and whilst cooking supper chatted to H who was showing me the flowers I’d sent her to cheer her up having torn her calf muscle and being incapacitated....not easy to manage with two small children and in the run up to Christmas. It would have been even worse in normal times as they’d have had AR’s birthday party to organise this weekend, but that’s cancelled anyway as AR was sent home from school today and has to self isolate for 2 weeks as a girl in her class has tested positive. AR also misses being a star in her school play this year - shame as they'd been rehearsing all the carols and she loved the nativity play last year..blooming virus! We chatted about Christmas arrangements and trying to find a way to meet up even if briefly or outside. Apparently won’t be possible on Christmas Eve as I’d hoped so maybe needs to be Boxing Day....
Just after that chat I got a message from A showing the first of her twice weekly home testing kit that she has to use from now on...and today’s been named ‘V day’ as the first vaccines have been given. Perhaps the end is in sight....
