Dancers End Water Works

A grey day so what caught my eye for Wide Wednesday?

Had a little drive and happened to pass this old building, built around 1800 to house a water pumping installation to supply water to the Rothschild properties in the Tring area.

Its claim to fame is the James Kay or Dancers End twin beam water pumping engine now located at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum in West London. The engine was originally installed at the Dancers End Pumping Station at Tring  in1867. It has been rebuilt and can be seen in steam at Kew Bridge.
