Mystery Advent Calendar

These little boxes began appearing along the edge of Northampton's Racecourse at the start of December. Today I finally got to walk along and take a look.

There's one for each day of December, each new box appearing mysteriously in the early hours. Apparently, if you are first to open the new one, there's a gift inside. The boxes contain, for example,  miniature works of art, crafts, light shows and dioramas. Here's December 9th with its door open.

In a dark, sad covid December, this is giving passers-by reason to smile!
